The New Wave ~ Bureau of Everything

The New Wave is Campaign Brief’s Q&A series spotlighting the next generation of independent creative companies and exploring how the indie model is evolving. From structure and speed to culture and capability, we unpack where these businesses are finding their edge and what’s driving client decisions today. Next up is Bureau of Everything.

1. Give us the elevator pitch – who are you and what do you do?

We make everything as unmissable as the world it lives in by teaming world class strategy and creative as a more progressive creative directorship.

We also like to have lunch together each day.

2. Are indies still challengers, or have they become the norm?

As many as there are, indies will always be challengers as they bring the kind of idealism and approach to problem solving that legacy shops find hard to stay true to.

3. What’s your unfair advantage over the networks today?

The clients we chose to work with get the undivided attention of super senior globally awarded talent.

4. How are you using AI to compete above your weight?

We are a human built business, solving very human problems through talent and experience. AI for us is just one of the many tools that is part of the process, not the magic wand that brings fresh and interesting solutions to the kinds of things we are tasked with.

5. What kind of clients are choosing indies right now – and why?

It’s hard to generalise. We see indies with big, small and in-between size clients. It’s probably clients with more of a partnership mindset rather than supplier approach that are reaping the benefits of working with smaller shops.

6. What’s next – growth, staying lean, or something else?

Carefully managed growth, making sure the brands we work with get the full value of what we promise and we stay true to why we set BoE up in the first place. Ultimately we would like Bureaus in key global markets.
