Cummins&Partners founding partner and CEO Kirsty Muddle set to depart agency after 11 years
Cummins&Partners Australian chief executive officer and founding partner Kirsty Muddle is set to depart the agency after 11 years for a new, as yet revealed role.
Muddle was promoted from Sydney managing director to chief executive officer just under two months ago.
Says Muddle: “I’ve had a wonderful time at Cummins&Partners. I was given an extraordinary opportunity to found an agency with one of the biggest and brightest characters in advertising, Sean Cummins. It delivered on everything that was promised. I’ve worked with some of the best people in this industry and we did some great work. After 11 years, I’ll leave behind a magnificent agency and take that experience and those memories with me as I move on to the next chapter.”
Says Sean Cummins, founder and global CCO, Cummins&Partners: “Kirsty spoke to me and told me she had an offer she couldn’t refuse. And after 11 years of fun and friendship it’s hard to argue.
“We never clashed, we always had a great time and she goes with my absolute support.
“We shouldn’t really look at Kirsty leaving… but her staying for 11 years… it’s almost unheard of.
“There’s a lot of change in the industry and we are no different, but our culture and our people continue to grow and evolve. It’s a nice place to work at.”

Paul Murphy has left too
An incredible talent. Can’t wait to see the impact she’ll undoubtedly have wherever she lands.
Chris Jeffars left.
Faye Collay is leaving
I think people have the freedom to leave. Why is this any different to Clems, Howatson or other agencies? Particularly lately.
Lots of this industries best talent has cut its teeth at Cummins. They obviously are doing something right that makes their people so attractive to others or have to confidence to do it alone. I’m sure there will be many more in the future also.
Big difference between staff leaving and four directors/shareholders leaving within a year
+1
Great agencies produce great people that go on to succeed in other places.
And that is ok.
Celebrate the person. A genuine star who will continue to do great things.
I worked there. It requires you to tolerate a lot.
There have been a stream of senior people who have left in the last year.
But it’s advertising so no one cares in the advertising bubble of Melbourne
Steven Tortosa is exiting at the end of the year too. There are big changes happening
I work there now. And for the last few years. Let me say that the world has had to tolerate a lot. Most of those senior people been here a long time. The vibe in the agency is really good and my friends in other agencies want to work here. So, perhaps your tour of duty was different to mine. But I for one enjoy the people and the agency
@partners are changing. Not sure where you’re getting your info from, but I’m not going anywhere or thinking of it. I don’t ever comment on these forums because its generally full of negative keyboard warriors and I’m not one of them. Im happy to own my comments. I love this agency and the people in it. I congratulate Kirsty on her new role and I love the fact that we have a breading ground of great talent. If you consider yourself great talent, come and join me. People come and go. We aren’t a bitter organisation and we champion great people. enough said.
I love working at Cummins. I love the people and the culture and while it is sad to see amazing people leave over the last year, we have had some bloody amazing and talented people join us in the last 12 months and they have bought an energy and vibrancy that is contagious.
Congratulations Kirsty.
