Western Power and Wunderman Thompson Perth have come together to educate the public to always make the safe call.
Instead of your usual finger-wagging safety campaign, the team at Wunderman Thompson created a series of observational, light-hearted stories with a very serious message.
The campaign encourages everyone in WA to stay safe in electrical emergencies and highlights their role in reporting any incidents and helping Western Power keep the community safe and grid-connected.
Western Power’s Brand and Customer Communications Manager, Jill Goodwin, said “We’ve seen several unusual electrical hazards happen in our community, this campaign was a great way highlight them to demonstrate that we are ready for anything.”
Wilora Keeley and Tim Newton, the creatives behind the campaign, said: “It’s great to work with a client who isn’t scared to challenge category norms. Sometimes the best way to educate is through entertainment. And it was pretty fun putting a trampoline in a powerline.”
Joe Hawkins, Creative Director at Wunderman Thompson, said “We’re really proud of this campaign. Everyone involved, from the client to the agency to the team at Sandbox and Soundbyte, have raised the creative bar when it comes to delivering safety messaging. The campaign does a great job of engaging a broad audience in an entertaining way, and ultimately raises awareness around the importance of giving Western Power a call in the event of an unexpected emergency.”
The campaign is currently running on TV, OLV, online, social and radio.
