Weld Stories expands team showing human-led storytelling cuts through content saturation

Weld Stories, the independent creative and content agency, has further expanded its team, with three new appointments as more brands look for heartfelt storytelling that accelerates impact.

Founded in 2021 by Shannon O’Meara, former Multimedia Director at Medium Rare, Weld Stories’ clients have grown to now include Microsoft, Monash University, World Bank, The Ascott Limited, Quest Apartment Hotels, Westpac Foundation, Women for Election, Shared Beginnings, Fitted for Work and more.

Says Shannon O’Meara, Founder and Managing Director, Weld Stories: “We’ve had intentional growth in the last year. Purpose-led brands and social enterprises know quality storytelling with emotion is driving engagement. In this era of social slopification, the stories with heart are cutting through.”

Now a team of 11 specialist storytellers – journalists, editors, designers, podcasters and documentary filmmakers – the Weld Stories team has been bolstered by Cassie Staples as Client Experience Manager, with designers D’Arcy Bush and Mia Walsh strengthening the agency’s creative and brand capability.

Says O’Meara: “These women join a team of deeply curious, creative and values-driven storytellers who care about the work and the communities behind it.”

Staples said her background in elite sport has shaped her approach to collaboration: “Sport has shown me the power of community, resilience and representation. I’ve worked alongside programs supporting inclusive sport and social impact initiatives, so joining an agency that genuinely wants to create positive change felt like a natural fit.”

Adds O’Meara: “Our pro bono work has really helped to bring the right values-aligned talent onboard. We’re proud of our consistent pro bono commitment to social enterprises working with women and children, First Nations communities and refugees.”
