When it comes to servicing your Volkswagen, it pays to get it done by the experts, as illustrated in this new series of print ads via DDB Sydney.

Oh look, DDB Sydney have done another smack yourself in the face it’s so simple and wonderful print campaign for Volkswagen that’s going to win heaps of awards!
More lovely, simple print from DDb. Now if only they could do something other than print they’d be a half decent agency!
Yeh but… http://files.coloribus.com/files/adsarchive/part_858/8588505/file/vw-genuine-parts-cat-small-25779.jpg
@TSW – That’s kind of like saying two ads for milk are similar because they feature a cow and a glass of white liquid.
Print, for volkswagen. How delightfully 1999. Ripped off from another DDB agency.
YAWN.
Lovely
If only it was half as lovely as they think. Lame iN comparison to so much great vw work for the same brief.
done for advertising wankers, like myself. a genuine VW customer probably wouldn’t get it, or give a “shuttlecock” about it.
haven’t we moved on from “canne” style print ads? People want to be engaged. As good as they are, these ads are wallpaper, in this day and age.

Not really like saying that at all.
Not in my opinion anyway.
So DDB Sydney just re purpose ads from their Network now? Can’t wait to see some US McDonalds ads running on TV here.
I liked this before i saw the cat one.
Same thought, same client, same network, similar execution. Sorry guys.
To be fair, it wasn’t 1999. DDB Auckland did this in 2004 or 5. By Mike Davison, Christie Cooper and friends.
Same illustration style. Different idea. Makes it ok in my book. By the way, I like it, it’s simple and funny. Haters gonna hate.
Just call it the second execution of a global scampaign that’s taken 9 years to get up.
Still you gotta take what you can get there, and anyone that wins in print these days is pretty awesome.
The cat execution was more rewarding
The NZ version was clearer, more surprising and ultimately more rewarding.
Plus… it’s not just the illustration that’s same same. There was a similar style print ad for BabyLove nappies a few years ago. Playground scene pointing to things and calling them something else (ie. dog poo = frisbee). From DDB Melbourne no less.
This is not an award winner I’m afraid.
Old ads rebadged. With the same badge.
Yawn.
In the car industry, it’s known as badge engineering.
This idea again?
