Tourism Tasmania launches tender for creative agency services; submissions close 2pm, Aug 1st

Tourism Tasmania is calling for agencies to submit for its lead creative agency contract, with the successful candidate to deliver creative and strategic work that connects travellers emotionally and culturally with the state to drive visitation.
The incumbent agency is BMF, which has lead creative duties since 2019.
The contract will be for a period of up to seven years, with an initial three-year term commencing in February 2025, followed by two optional two-year extensions.
The successful agency will work with Tourism Tasmania to deliver a creative marketing program that sets the state apart in a competitive national and international destination marketing sector.
Interested agencies can download the Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) documents and submit an REOI through the Tasmanian Government tender website: www.tenders.tas.gov.au
Submissions close at 2pm on 1 August 2024.
Any procurement related questions should be directed to chris.wilson@tourism.tas.gov.au.

This is a statutory review. The work is phenomenal, the clients love their agencies in place. Only agencies that are truly desperate are going to waste time and money going for this
No one else is winning this but BMF
The list of agencies that go for this will be a list of agencies who are too desperate or idiotic to realise the writing is on the wall on this one
Right this way to waste a whole lot of time and money only for BMF to retain the account
This is exactly what is wrong with the advertising industry, the work is amazing.
Why put it out there to get everyone wasting their time with new ideas for what?
BMF has done a magnificent job on this – in fact, pitching on a different state’s tourism campaign, this is the work we referenced internally as the high water mark.
If BMF lost this, it would be a travesty. But, BMF ain’t losing this.
Anyone who’s worked on Government knows that legally they have to pitch after a certain time. Regardless of how good the relationship or the work is. BMF do a fabulous job!!
Imagine, as a statement to the client and the industry, not one agency tenders for this because we all agree the work is outstanding. Won’t happen of course, but just imagine.
Ridiculous to even be open to moving agencies – silly Gov rules.
I like that
Usually I would say ‘Oh look at the incumbent agency flooding the comments section’ but honestly, I reckon this is actually how everyone in the industry feels
While I think the first ‘Come down for air’ work was brilliant, the current one wasn’t up to the same standard. Just sayin’
Given the situation they should decide on the outcome based on agency credentials and previous work (like other industries do!) rather then waste everyone’s time and money with a creative pitch.
Why would you move away from the agency that has made your work some of the best out there?
