Toshiba teams up with Japanese artist to create exhibition armed only with a charged notebook in a new campaign via Clemenger BBDO, Sydney
CB Exclusive: Toshiba Australia, supported by Windows and Intel, issued a challenge to renowned Japanese artist Tomokazu Matsuyama: Create an entire exhibition en route from Tokyo to Sydney using only a Toshiba Portégé Z20T Notebook and its 17-hour battery life.
The new Toshiba campaign called ‘Made in 17 hours’ via Clemenger BBDO, Sydney followed Matsuyama in what was an epic challenge for the artist, and a daring demonstration of the Portégé Z20T’s serious battery life.
Matsuyama began the challenge the second he unplugged the Notebook in Tokyo. He was then racing against the clock, and the Notebook’s battery life, to complete as many artworks as he could during his 17 hour journey from Tokyo to Sydney.
The ‘Made in 17 hours’ exhibition showcasing the artwork is being held tonight and tomorrow night (24th and 25th June) at the Quayside Room, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
A short film documenting the challenge is due for release soon.

Solid. Great product demo and stands out like dogs balls in a pretty bland category. Art looks impressive.
What has it got to do with 17hr battery life. isn’t flight from Tokyo to Sydney 10hrs?
I’m assuming it’s door to door. 17 hours seems right… especially with Tokyo traffic
AMAAAAZING.
Strong!
Well I hope I get an invite to the next creative Toshiba event, I cant believe I was not on their list!
