Three sporting legends star in new ‘The Man Shake’ TV campaign via The Proverbials
Merv Hughes, Paul Roos and Adam MacDougall have teamed up in a new TVC via The Proverbials, for The Man Shake, in a bid to address the growing obesity issue in Australia.
Says MacDougall who formulated The Man Shake’: “It’s a pretty serious issue but we wanted to use a bit of humour to cut through and show blokes that they can lose the beer gut without losing all the beers.”
As elite sportspeople, these three legends of different codes know the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, and have all used The Man Shake as part of their fitness regime. But you don’t have to be an elite sportsperson to get the benefits.
Says Brian Daly, The Proverbials: “It’s a pretty easy way to lose weight’ says writer/director Brian Daly of The Proverbials. ‘All you have to do is grab your package and give it a shake a couple of times a day. Any bloke can do that. And that’s where the idea for the spot came from. The guys played it up beautifully.”

Ah crap. I had the same idea for a pornographic film. It also starred Merv and Roos but without the milkshake…well without THAT kind of milkshake.
Back to the drawing board.
That was bloody horrific.
What utter wank.
