Thinkerbell is hiring, and Jim’s hungry.

Despite the occasional press release they like to send out, what you may not know is that during all this craziness Thinkerbell continues to grow at an exciting rate, and they’re hungry for creative people who want to be part of the ride.
Hello creative community. As you probably know there is a lot of movement happening in the creative agency job world. Offices with a view out your lounge room window, jobs in cool global cities, ‘executive titles’ being handed out like participation certificates at junior football, wild salaries that are too alluring to allow you to think sensibly – it’s all happening – just ask the person sitting next to you.
If you’re wildly creative, a little unsettled where you currently are, and curious about how things work at TKB, come have ‘Lunch With Jim’. Jim [Ingram], national chief creative & founder, has booked an appropriately priced restaurant in Sydney and Melbourne to have lunch with some creative people who are interested in talking about where creativity is heading (that could be a euphemism for a job at Thinkerbell).
However, even if you’re totally happy where you are, you can still join Jim for lunch and try to poach whoever else turns up instead. It’ll be fun.
Sydney – Weds 22nd March @ 12.00pm
Melbourne – Weds 29th March @ 12:00pm
So if you’re interested in coming to ‘Lunch With Jim’ hit up hungry@thinkerbell.com with your full name and phone number, plus something that shows him you deserve a seat at the table.

Matty, Jim’s paying. Let’s go!
Less than or greater than that of a recruiter’s fee.
Maybe it’s just me but I’m not even entirely sure what this event is? Is this a one-on-one? Is this a weird group interview like that time I went to an open house only to find the host invited every single applicant and we all had to awkwardly sit around the backyard waiting for our turn to view the room?
It’s unclear maybe deliberately so! But I reckon it’s a call for applicants dressed up in a fun weird press release
if you’re sitting next to your current boss
Ahh yes, obscure messaging – just what job seekers are looking for!
May the odds be ever in your favour
Will the other lunch guests be signing NDAs so my boss doesn’t find out I’ve attended?
I’m a little wary of job interviews. I knew things weren’t going well during one when the interviewer said “We don’t employ c*#@s.”
Well, you DID think the ‘Fck the Cupcakes’ campaign was good…
Very good.
…isn’t it?
Need the table back by 1.15pm
If you were going to go for an agency role but are already employed, wouldn’t you want to keep the meeting confidential and discreet, rather than advertising your involvement to all the other ‘applicants’? Feel bad for anyone unlucky enough to be spotted at this do.
It’s a call out to get cut through.
It’s got that.
Sure if you want to stay under the radar you could get a romantic one on one if you’re deemed swiperightable.
It ain’t hard people
These guys are really hot or miss with everything. Their work is sometimes great and then a week later it’s nonsensical. The same goes for the way they talk about themselves. Sure this gets cut through but now it knocks out half the decent creatives out there who think this is daft.
If it knocks out candidates who don’t like the way they do things, then they probably aren’t the right cultural fit anyway. You don’t have to sell to everyone with your comms to be effective. In fact, the inverse is usually true.
As a collective-noun of creatives who constantly complain when clients, suits and planners overthink things, do you think anyone here has overthought a simple press release saying ‘We’re hiring’ with a twist of… voila?
I just read your comment four times and have absolutely no idea what you’re trying to say. Perhaps you overthought it?
I don’t know why people are hating on this. Back when I started (admittedly a long time ago) the greatest challenge was actually getting time with an ECD. This way a creative or team with a bit ambition just needs to turn up for a free lunch, book in hand. Yes, it may be a little intimidating, but a little courage in meeting new people can go a long way. Nice one Jim.
Because of the reasons stated above. Y’know, in the comments. I mean they’re right there.
