The Sand That Ate The Sea: Film Screening and Exhibit by The POOL COLLECTIVE’s Matthew Thorne

As a special one-night-only event, Director Matthew Thorne and The POOL COLLECTIVE will be hosting an advanced Sydney screening of Thorne’s latest narrative film, “The Sand That Ate The Sea”. The film documents the South Australian Opal mining town, Andamooka.

Developed in tandem with the film, Thorne also captured a photographic series which will be exhibiting prior to the film screening. In addition to the 23 works, the exhibition includes an immersive audio-visual installation comprising of an adaptation of the film projected on 4 channels, Luke Howard’s musical score from the film as well as a sculptural element.
