The Portfolio Project has now partnered with YouthWorx Melbourne, a registered training organisation that provides cert level courses and work experience to disadvantaged youth in multimedia and creative industries.
The Portfolio Project will go in and train young people accessing the services at YouthWorx as part of a paid work placement for the young people.
The first real project? The redesign of the YouthWorx website which the young people will be taught UX and web design skills to begin with then later the curriculum will expand to workshops and different aspects of the creative industry.
Says Duncan Mah, co-founder, The Portfolio Project: “The other exciting development we have is that The Portfolio Project have gone global.”
The new website is a portal where training to disadvantaged youth and young people with a disability can be done online and they can be trained in creative skills via the online portal through Skype anywhere in Australia and anywhere around the world.
So if you are a not-for-profit looking to help young people accessing your services and get hands on training please visit our training portal or if you are a creative wanting to volunteer your time as a tutor as well please visit The Portfolio Project through the portal contact form: http://study.gwfcreative.com.au/
Says Mah: “We look forward to reaching more people via our portal and help disadvantaged youth get a leg up for their future.”
