kfc pink buckets1.jpgKFC Australia will be going pink this cricket season to raise money for the McGrath Foundation to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses and increase breast awareness in young women.

From Boxing Day, all KFC chicken buckets sold at stores around Australia will turn pink until 8 January.

For each chicken pink bucket sold, one dollar will be donated to the McGrath Foundation with money raised going towards placing McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across the country.

Natasa Zunic, marketing director, KFC brand development said the friendship with the McGrath Foundation was incredibly important to KFC which employs around 25,000 Australians.

Says Zunic: “Many of our employees have been touched by breast cancer in one form or another. KFC is really proud to support the McGrath Foundation and help provide communities with the people and resources they need to deal with one of the most challenging diseases in Australia.

“This year we helped to raise over $315,000 for the McGrath Foundation and we are delighted to be onboard for a second year to support this wonderful charity. We will be raising funds via our chicken pink bucket donations but will also be actively supporting fundraising efforts with in-store coin collections throughout this year’s cricket season.”

Tracy Bevan, the McGrath Foundation’s ambassador and director said: “The McGrath Foundation is really proud to have been able to support more than 10,000 Australian families through a breast cancer experience, with 68 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working in communities right across the country.

Friendships such as KFC’s are so incredibly important to us, as not only do they raise money for the Foundation but they also allow us to integrate within the lives of KFC employees and customers, many of which have sadly been touched by breast cancer in some way.”
