The AADC heads into 48th year with a new co-president Nic Eldridge and committee

The Adelaide Advertising & Design Club (AADC) is heading into its 48th year with a new co-president, and a healthier-than-ever lineup of local talent on its committee.

The AADC has announced Nic Eldridge as its latest co-president. Eldridge is founder and creative director of the design practice, sector7g, and last year held the role of Awards co-chair on the Club’s executive committee. Prior to getting involved with the AADC, Eldridge also served as CEO of industry-body AGDA, and a board member for HETA incorporated.

Eldridge replaces outgoing co-president, Taylor Martin, and will share the role with Joe Godsell, who has held the role since January 2022.

Says Godsell: “I’m thrilled to have Nic on board, he has been integral to the Club in ensuring that we are appealing and useful to both the Advertising and Design industry and will continue on that journey.

“As for me, I will be focusing on creating more mutually beneficial sponsorship arrangements, where we design events in collaboration with our sponsors. Our financial contributors should be able to see a direct benefit from their investment. We already have many long-term relationships, and we look forward to extending that list all so that we can provide even more value to the Adelaide Creative Industry.

“I’d like to thank Taylor for her incredible two years at the helm, she has brought an infectious energy to the Club and will continue to do so in her new position.”

Says Martin: “The opportunity to help steer the Club’s future has been nothing short of special, and it’s no lie that I’ve loved every second of the last two years. It’s hard to play favourites, though one of the best things has been working alongside a group of incredibly talented and genuinely good people who give their time to the Club. Hours that would usually be spent with family, friends or work go into helping shape the industry they love so much.

“Joe has shown he’s a force to be reckoned with, bringing The AADC Annual Talks to life and implementing new ways of thinking for the Club’s future benefit. Nic brings with him a wealth of knowledge, and a desire to bring more of the industry together. Together —and with the support of the wider committee— the Club’s in a great position. I’m excited.”

Says Eldridge: “Stepping into the spot left by Taylor is a big ask. Her unflappable energy and focus on doing what is best for the club has been a big part of the strong direction the AADC has forged during her tenure. Taylor has been instrumental in building, and growing, a vibrant community within our industry. I will be focused on continuing that work to build a broader community of creatives, along with a keen eye on sustainable practice for AADC across all our activities.”

The AADC is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation, fuelled by a committee that boasts some of the most senior people in the state, and industry new starters looking to help shape the future of their industry.

The Executive Committee is led by:
Co-Presidents: Joe Godsell (TBWA\Adelaide) & Nic Eldridge (sector7g)
Treasurer: Marty Pepper (KOJO)
Secretary: Sarah Luthaus (Ten Past Ten)
Co-Chairs of She Creates: Dena Vassallo (SOCIETY) and Amy Lambert (Make Create)
Chair of Education: Ella Wood (Showpony Adelaide)
Chair of Awards: Taylor Martin (Simple)
Chair of Operations: Paul Sobolewski (Rising Sun Pictures)
Chair of Diversity & Inclusion: Erin Phillips (TBWA\Adelaide)

Since 1975, the Club’s committee has been driven to deliver on the Club’s purpose of inspiring, connecting and promoting its members, and the industry at large, through a series of events, initiatives and more.
