Supercheap Auto delivers high octane zombie action in latest Best Performing Oils campaign via Taxi Film Production and Chimera Project
Leading automotive retailer Supercheap Auto is encouraging Aussie and Kiwi motorists to “Get More Life From Your Engine” in the latest, and most successful instalment of its stunt-laden Best Performing Oils campaign, created by TAXI Film Production and Chimera Project.
Now in its eleventh year, the much-anticipated campaign centres around a seven-and-a-half-minute online film called Redline Delivery. The film features a team of high performance delivery drivers trying to get oil to Supercheap Auto in time for the big oil sale, while evading a horde of oil-craving zombies as they skid, drift and crash among the precariously stacked wrecks at the fictitious Redline Wreckers.
While oil brand parters Nulon, Penrite, Mobil, Gulf Western and Castrol are the true stars, Redline Delivery also features a who’s who of Australian motorsport past and present including Supercars legend Craig Lowndes, Chaz Mostert, Molly Taylor, Matt Mingay, Kai Allen, Thomas Randle and Bayley Hall.
Also back this year are car fan favourites Mighty Car Mods, Turbo Yoda, Grant Denyer, Mad Mates and Nitro Circus star Ryan Williams. Plus popular influencers, Jack and Isaac from Swag On The Beat, making their first appearance in a Best Performing Oils campaign.
Supercheap Auto Head of Marketing Julia Willcox said this year’s campaign was the most ambitious yet: “Each year the Best Performing Oils just gets bigger and better, and this year’s is no exception. We’re super grateful to our trade partners for making it possible, it’s great that their trust has been rewarded with the results we’re seeing.”
Having created their sixth Best Performing Oils campaign, Chimera Project Executive Creative Directors Jonathan Drapes and Brendan Greaney are thrilled to be part of the campaign’s ongoing success: “Using the best motor oil and filters in your vehicle means you get more performance, protection and efficiency from your engine – more life,” Drapes said. “What better place to tell this story than a car graveyard. And everyone knows what you find in graveyards – zombies!”
Produced by TAXI Film Production, Redline Delivery featured over 100 cast and crew and was filmed over four days in and around Willawong Wreckers, led by Senior Producer Imogen Dick and directed by Miles Murphy.
Says Murphy: “You can’t make a film like this without an obsessive amount of preparation.”
Adds Dick: “This was especially necessary as this year’s location was the most challenging yet, combining high-performance stunts within a high-risk shooting environment.”
Since launch, Redline Delivery has amassed over 1.7 million views across multiple channels, plus thousands of positive comments, likes and shares – making it the most successful Best Performing Oils campaign yet.
