Startups fuel independent agency Five by Five Global’s new business growth in Australia

Independent agency, Five by Five Global, has been appointed by three well funded startups to manage their growth ambitions.

Kip Happy Stays is looking to build on its current national footprint. Ustyler is democratising fashion design through an app experience and Yesports has appointed the agency to launch the world’s largest NFT and web 3.0 platform for international esports teams – looking to reward and engage fans.

Says Matt Lawton, managing director, Five by Five: “Each of these wins builds our credentials as launch marketing specialists. Pet care is a hot category and tech and gaming is already a strength of ours globally. With major games publishers like Activision and Epic Games on retainer, we’re uniquely placed to steward brands wanting to explore the metaverse.”

Lawton believes Australia’s buoyant startup scene represents a strong opportunity for agencies: “You have to be set up and structured the right way to work with a startup venture. They don’t value the same things as corporate clients but it’s interesting that our corporate clients love us helping them work more like startups.”

Kip has disrupted pet boarding and daycare with a focus on customer experience, staffing and bountiful site locations to match the heightened expectations of today’s pet owners. With 21 sites across 5 states (and 1 territory), the business has tasked Five by Five with brand strategy and social media.

Says William Roxburgh, managing director and co-founder at Kip: “Five by Five understands our needs at the stage of growth we’re at as a business and what is needed to take us to the next level. We met three creatives who pitched us some brilliant work before we even talked to an account service person and that approach was really refreshing.”

Says Benjamin Le Roux, head of marketing at Yesports: “With most of the team based in Australia, we wanted to appoint a local agency and found Five by Five to be a compelling option because of their nimbleness, category knowledge and footprint into the US and UK.”
