Specsavers gets fans ‘Spinning Around’ for AFL Grand Final in new OOH push via TBWA\Melbourne

Kylie Minogue fans will be ‘Spinning Around’ when they spot the latest Should’ve gone to Specsavers campaign, developed by TBWA\Melbourne, across key sites in Melbourne’s CBD and on route to the AFL Grand Final.

Celebrating Specsavers’ longstanding designer partnership with Kylie, the marketing team has put a warm and witty Specsavers twist on the title of Kylie’s 2000 hit, “Spinning Around”, turning one of Australia’s most recognisable pop references into a classic Should’ve gone to Specsavers moment.

The creative will come to life on Grand Final day across multiple large-format and street-furniture sites, as well as a roaming digital billboard across Melbourne CBD, Richmond and Punt Road, including the iconic JCDecaux Young & Jackson site under the Kylie mural.

Says Anri McHugh, Head of Marketing, Awareness & Consideration, Specsavers: “Simple, fun and unmistakably Specsavers, this is a great opportunity to tap into the excitement surrounding Kylie’s Grand Final performance while celebrating our longstanding partnership with Kylie. Should’ve gone to Specsavers has always been at its best when it shows up in culture in a timely and playful way. This campaign does exactly that giving AFL fans a laugh while keeping Specsavers and eye health top of mind.”
