Special has appointed Claire Bradbourne to help develop the group globally, working with Special partners across all offices to help create a world class and consistent brand, to aid growth.
The appointment comes a month after Special was named ‘Global Creative Agency of the Year’ by esteemed industry publication Campaign UK – beating stiff competition from finalists including adam&eveDDB, Mother and BBH. And follows the opening of new Special offices in Melbourne and Los Angeles over the past year.
Most recently, Claire was GM of strategy at Dentsu Group – leading the ASB Bank account and strategy across Dentsu’s creative and media lines of business. A highlight being the ‘Borrow the All Blacks’ campaign, which recently won six Golds at AWARD in Australia and was the only New Zealand campaign featured in this year’s Contagious Top 20 Global annual list.
She is a highly accomplished strategist with the ability to build and deliver marketing strategies across categories – from big banks to boutique luxury brands. Claire has held senior roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, Colenso and AKQA in London.
Says Tony Bradbourne, founder and CEO/CCO Special NZ: “Claire has the smartest marketing brain I know. This is not just a proud husband saying this, the sensational job she has done with ASB Bank over the past 12months is pretty good proof. Sadly for her though I bore her constantly about Special, so it’s great that she’s finally agreed to join the company and help turn all that talk into action.”
Says Lindsey Evans, partner and CEO Special AUS: “Claire is a great human with a big brain, intuitive heart and incredible energy. She will make a huge impact on the brand and business; making a meaningful difference to and for everyone within the group.”
Special has been through a remarkable period of growth over the past two years and has been named ‘New Zealand Agency of the Year’ and ‘Australian Agency of the Year’ simultaneously by Campaign Brief, Campaign Asia and B&T magazine – the first for any agency.
Says Claire: “I love the work that Special creates, it has such ambition to it, and it’s very exciting that this ambition is being recognised in the world and further realised with the recent opening of two more Special offices in the iconic cities of LA and Melbourne. The talent within the group is mind-blowing and I’m very much looking forward to working with the extraordinarily smart and kind people at Special to help take the company to the next level.”
Claire Bradbourne has started at Special with immediate effect. She is based in the Auckland office and can be reached on Claire.firstname.lastname@example.org.
