CB Exclusive – In the lead up to National Skin Cancer Action week, the charity is asking Aussies to show some skin, to save some skin, in a campaign developed in partnership with Sydney agency Bounce Creative.

The content is launching this week, with the help of local legends, olympians, actors, surfers and skin cancer survivors, who all strip down to make a bold statement around one of the world’s most preventable cancers. One that kills over 2,500 Aussies every year, by suss looking spots.

Says Scott Maggs, the organisation’s founder: “We’re challenging Australia to do something different, bold and exciting. Something that demands attention and helps us get to know the skin we’re in, as well as how to protect it…. By asking people to do whatever they love to do (sun-safely and legally of course) we want to show how getting your kit off can actually save lives, by simply getting your skin checked. Along with raising awareness, the funds raised will go towards a national skin check program, bringing vital early detection services to communities most at risk.”

Making a statement within the content, the campaign shares various ways that Aussies can “Strip Off For Skin Cancer” to do something fun, in order to raise awareness, raise funds and raise eyebrows. The spot ultimately landing with the hard hitting message from skin cancer campaigner Courtney Mangan, that stripping off in fact saved her life.

Says Joel Chapman, creative director, Bounce: “With several people in our team having directly experienced the dangers of the sun and skin cancer, we wanted to roll up our sleeves and approach the brief in a really collaborative way, as we worked alongside Scott and his team at the organisation. We uncovered the insight that in Australia skin cancer doesn’t go away outside of summer, we just tend to cover it up. This led to a powerful and provocative message that we feel really does show how easy it is to strip off and get a skin check.”

The hero video and stills were captured by the production team at Entropico and the campaign will be live across above the line, social and digital channels this week.
