Showpony goes full service in joint venture with Mel Roberts of The Ad Room

The jury is out, full service is in. A joint venture between The Ad Room’s Melissa Roberts (above centre) and independent creative group Showpony, has created a full service agency with offices in three capital cities, Hobart, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Showpony Media will support the strategy and media needs of the group, providing a one stop shop for all Showpony clients.

Says Jamie Scott (above left), managing director, Showpony Group: “Working with Mel Roberts is a dream come true. We first worked together in 2009 when Mel was managing director at MPG Australia and Showpony was a client of hers. She was amazing to work with then and fifteen years later we consider ourselves very lucky to have her on our team.”

Roberts will share her time between her specialist independent media agency, The Advertising Room – which focuses on kids and families advertising – and the new full service offering at Showpony.

Says Roberts: “Showpony is my kind of creative agency. Their creative output is world class and always built around solid consumer insights. To add in full service with all the resources that come with that takes things to a whole new level and I’m confident that clients are going to love the results.”

Says Parris Mesidis (above right), executive creative director, Showpony: “Full service means one team behind one strategy informed by one comprehensive set of insights. It means a fully coordinated, integrated and accountable team all on the same page from page one.”

Adds Scott: “One brief, one strategy, one team and one invoice. Full service will do a great deal to elevate an already accomplished strategy offering. Plus, when you throw media into Showpony’s service mix you have complete end to end control. That kind of control and accountability is what we’re all about. We reckon it’s going to go okay!”

The joint venture began operating in late 2023 and is already working on projects with TasWater and St Johns Ambulance in Tasmania, and San Churro and Kez’s Kitchen in Melbourne.

Showpony is a network of deliberately smaller, highly experienced teams operating in Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.
