Short film ‘Beautiful They’ directed by Cloudy Rhodes at DIVISION wins at CICLOPE Asia 2021

Short film ‘Beautiful They’, directed by DIVISION’s Cloudy Rhodes, follows the chance encounter between two young people which blooms into a tender romantic relationship. The film evokes Cloudy’s sensitive approach to unique non-binary love stories.

‘Beautiful They’ is a personal, auto-biographical piece and offers a refreshing approach to queer romance. Cloudy’s fondness for the ocean adds a serenity to their work; with the water-like imagery and oceanic soundscape.

As well as making the Official Selection for MIFF, ‘Beautiful They’ has also received significant critical acclaim overseas, making the Official Selection for this year’s Tribeca International Film Festival and Outfest in LA.

This year Cloudy joined DIVISION. The company works on developing new talent with unique voices and is excited to see Cloudy make their mark on the advertising world.

Having already created content for Levi’s, and shot editorials for iD, Vogue, Monster Children and RUSSH, we should expect to see more work from Cloudy, infused with their sensitive storytelling techniques.
