Rotto Rickshaws launches fresh new identity via Perth agency Wildlings

Perth independent agency Wildlings has created a fresh new identity for Rotto Rickshaws, as the electric rickshaw tour service rolls back onto Wadjemup / Rottnest Island for its second season.

Returning from 1 November 2026, Rotto Rickshaws offers visitors a very simple proposition: see more of Rotto, pedal less.

The service runs 90-minute guided electric rickshaw tours through some of the island’s best bits, from beaches and bays to lighthouses, landmarks and stories you might otherwise ride straight past.

Guests can choose from experiences including Rottnest Uncovered: Battles, Bays & Beyond, exploring the island’s history, coastline and lesser-known corners, or Beacons & Bays, taking in iconic lighthouse views, beaches and some particularly unfair-looking scenery.

It is part tour, part transport and part permission to sit down and enjoy the scenery.

The new identity takes that same spirit and runs with it.

At its centre is a custom Rotto Rickshaws mark, supported by a sun-soaked island palette, bold typography and an ever-growing collection of illustrated badges, stickers and phrases.

Rather than creating a tourism brand that behaved itself nicely inside a logo box, Wildlings built a visual system designed to get around.

The identity appears across rickshaws, rider uniforms, helmets, merchandise, drink bottles, signage, social content and the digital booking experience, giving the brand plenty of room to keep evolving.

Says Enrico Bettesworth, Head of Design, Wildlings: “Rotto already has so much personality. The last thing it needed was another polished tourism identity that could just as easily belong somewhere else.

“We wanted this to feel relaxed, colourful and slightly cheeky. The sticker system became a way to build a whole little world around the brand, with quokkas, sharks, seals and island references showing up wherever they feel like it.

“It means the identity can keep changing depending on where you find it, whether that’s on a helmet, a shirt, a rickshaw or a water bottle. It feels more like something you collect from the experience than something you’re being advertised to.”

The result is a brand built for families, couples, interstate and international visitors, and anyone whose preferred Rotto cycling strategy is having somebody else do the hard work.

Rotto Rickshaws returns to Wadjemup / Rottnest Island from 1 November 2026.
