Publicis Mojo Australia bolsters CRM + digital comms capabilities with the addition of Cubed
Publicis Worldwide Australia has today announced a major strengthening of its CRM and digital communications capabilities with the team from award-winning agency Cubed joining Publicis’ ranks.
The new arrangement will see Cubed’s 15 management and staff move into Publicis’ Melbourne offices and become available to Publicis’ clients. In addition Cubed clients will have access to the wider capabilities of the various specialist businesses within the Publicis Worldwide Australia group. The agreement with Cubed, a specialist CRM and digital agency, has been orchestrated by newly arrived Publicis Worldwide Australia CEO Andrew Baxter (pictured above), whose plans for the group include a focus on providing full capabilities around end-to-end consumer engagement for clients and its brands.
Says Loris Nold, CEO for Publicis Worldwide, APAC and emerging markets: “This is an important strategic move to accelerate our CRM and digital resources in Australia and in the region. Australia will continue playing a vital role in our Asia Pacific and Global networks. We will continue to make considerable investments there in the resources and quality of work we offer clients.”
Says Baxter: “Cubed’s capabilities and experience will be a welcome addition to the 250 staff we have working at Publicis Loyalty in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Cubed will retain its name and become a vital conduit to the group’s capabilities in brand and consumer engagement.”
Cubed was founded in 2005 by business partners Kim McDonnell and Mike Chuter who will retain their leadership of the business and report to Baxter. Bakers Delight, Fairfax Digital and Federation University are among Cubed’s major clients and earlier this year the agency won a 2014 Colloquy Award that recognises innovative industry-leading loyalty strategies. The agency handles both business-to-business and business-to-consumer campaigns.
Says Chuter: “We were strongly attracted to Publicis because of its extensive customer engagement capabilities and Andrew Baxter’s plans for the future. Long lasting and relevant brand and consumer connections created by the clever use of data, targeting and creativity are in high demand from clients and this will only increase into the future.”
The business arrangements between Cubed and Publicis Worldwide Australia Group are effective immediately.

So …. how many ex-Cuboids now work at Publicis? There’s some awkward water cooler action waiting to happen ….
Great news … for suppliers. Can we assume as part of the deal they’ll get paid now?

I love you
but I’m afraid
to love you

Oh hell here we go again… how many times did we go thru this….
I hope it comes with a courtyard … Won’t someone think of the dogs?
Lol PubicLice at it again, failed in the region over and over and acquire failed hot shops to try and figure out a way from the long slippery hole they in…
No moral ethics, no respect, no professionalism , no teamwork, no vision… Welcome to the land of PubicLice!
And how many people you have sacked in mojo due to this?
I guess it’s a good move if Publicis are looking to increase its staff turnover numbers and lower morale.
So was it the intern or the cleaner who performed the due diligence on this deal? My only hope is that this is a year only deal and Publicis throw them to the curb at the 364 day point. Seems only fitting given Cubed’s history of doing the very same to their staff …
So they have to bring a specialist agency in to bolst the numbers and run the Mojo Melbourne office of 3. Scathing indictment on by senior Publicis management. No doubt related to Cricket Australia embarrassment. Here we go again!
What’s more embarrassing is Cubed’s positioning as a digital specialist agency. For months no one could update their website because no one knew their password. They’re DM “specialists” at best …
So who will run this tiny tiny shop? Cubed or the current MD? Will be interesting to see the blood on the walls. Cricket Australia saw through the Sydney team that were sent down for the pitch.
What’s that now? 0 from 10 pitches? Freud. Paris is watching.
It’s so damn cute how people who think they know ‘what’s going on’ at Mojo actually have no freaking idea ‘what’s going on’ at Mojo. Bless.
Oh Billy Billy Billy….
At least there’s more GADs for the ECD to welcome now.
Im starting to doubt equality in the world. How …. How, after years of treating people so terribly, without a touch of compassion and purely for their own selfish fiscal gain are M&K still able to run a business. It defies me. May karma at some point take effect.
I’m out of the industry now …. Cubed was my last agency gig – as I’m sure it was for many. I remember sitting in an invoicing meeting and watching a certain owner at the time fake cry about what was coming in and the fact he could lose his beach house. They weren’t the right people for me. I work in childcare these days. Ironically, much less shit
Sheesh .. The venom is coming out … and and it’s all pretty valid from my experience. Ex-client of cubed. We found out that the same strategy the were ‘selling into us’ was already being developed for another client – same industry – different state – that they coincidentally left out of their creds doc. I don’t trust these people.
Up until sic years ago I had worked in advertising for 16 years. Happy camper pretty much all the way. Then I worked for Cubed for eleven months and twenty-nine days … After a further 38 months of counselling I’m actually happy now, and funnily enough out of this industry as well … but sad to see that certain powers are allowed to use and abuse prospectively great talent that is out there. Seems a lot of people fade out here …. just sad
Desperate times call for desperate measures. A merger in the hope that it will save their business and their reputations. Not likely!
It’s sad that people like that keep looking outward for solutions instead of looking at themselves and their self absorbed ways. Worked at Cubed and realised early on that these people have no integrity whatsoever, and I feel for the hardworking and decent employees that are stuck there due to circumstance.
I’m thankful I worked there. It taught me that I will NEVER become the type of person that walks all over others to make a quick buck.
Brace yourself Publicis.
I too worked at Cube and for the new Melbourne management of Publicis in another life. Mark my words this will end in tears. Pistols at dawn stuff.
Interesting that Mojo even pitched for Cricket Australia given an ex McCann staff member was working at Cricket. That should have told them they had no hope.
Well well well , the comments above about Cubed and the merger are turning out to be totally correct . Have been a client there since the merger , been ripped off , chewed up and have sacked them ! The staff turnover was horrendous , the service appalling and all they care about is money – the filthy lucre . It’s going to fall over – poor management and no service yet big big bills
