Leading Melbourne-based podcast agency Pivotal Conversations has announced a strategic partnership with Sydney-based production studios I Want It Yesterday as together they look to revolutionise podcasting in Australia.

2023 was a record year for the podcasting landscape, with Australians downloading 1.03 billion podcasts, up 26% for the year, according to the December Australian Podcast Ranker. This is a significant rise in consumption which shows no signs of slowing. At the same time, the total digital audio advertising spending in Australia has also increased significantly as podcasting offers deeper levels of connection than other channels.

However, with this increase in demand, there are still barriers to entry for brands and creators looking to create transformative conversations and cutting through the noise on digital platforms with the use of video.

For the last 12 months, Pivotal Conversations has been working with creators like Ibrahim Akbar for his ‘One on One with Ibby’ podcast with guests including Hasbulla and Shaquille O’Neal; Sharelle Grant & Dani Antonellos with their ‘Level Up’ podcast, Collingwood Football Club’s Tom Mitchell with ‘Ball Magnets’ podcast, and even supporting brands like White Fox with their ‘White Fox After Hours’ podcast, and STRONG Pilates.

Says Kyle Traynor, managing director, Pivotal Conversations: “Podcasts are the gold standard for community building. We are not like traditional podcast agencies. We offer an all-in-one podcasting solution, streamlining every step of your podcast journey. I Want It Yesterday shares our vision for innovation and growth in this space.”

This strategic partnership now allows Pivotal Conversation’s Sydney-based clients to capitalise on I Want It Yesterday’s state-of-the-art studios which have been home to such productions as athlete-led ‘Lets Trot Show’ hosted by NRL legends Josh Addo-Carr & Josh Mansour, and brand-led podcasts such as youth focused tradie podcast ‘Built Different’ by HIA Insurance. At the same time, I Want It Yesterday clients can utilise Pivotal Conversation’s studios in Melbourne as well as their unique Membership and Growth services.

Says Joey Ferrone, co-founder, I Want It Yesterday: “We’re super excited to be working with the Pivotal team who share our passion for audio and visual storytelling. Australia really has a definitive voice in podcasting. This allows us to continually test, learn, and apply new technologies to how we refine our creative process. Although audio-only podcasts still have great cut through, we are now seeing a new benchmark emerging for vodcasting and the use of short form video to support audio, whether that’s on YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, or a combination.”
