Dove, via Ogilvy & Mather Brasil, has released the next campaign to follow the multi-award winning “Real Beauty Sketches”.
Dove is committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence not anxiety. So they created Dove: Patches and invited women to discover how the right state of mind can unlock a powerful feeling of beauty that lives inside all women. Become part of the journey that will empower women around the world with the message that beauty is a state of mind.

had to turn that off.
it might work for the audience – i don’t know.
but, come on. how dumb would you have to be to think that a patch makes you more beautiful? its juts not something any reasonably intelligent person would stomach
the beauty sketches worked because you weren’t asked to believe, you were shown. this thing is just ‘reality’ advertising gone wrong.
what the hell…
Ill be honest, as soon as i heard the words ‘beauty patch’ my bullshit alarms went off
These are either the most gullible women in the world, or the whole thing is utter fiction.
Either way (resisting the urge to use the obvious phrase) it’s not anywhere near as good as Sketches. Tough one to follow up though, obviously. This just feels manipulative and flat.
This is as shit as Real Beauty Sketches was good.
the ol’ difficult second album
Horrible. Patronising in the extreme. What Twinkle said.
I think the most wonderful thing about Dove as a brand is that they care about women specifically in the months leading up to the Cannes entry deadline.
No Gary No…
Dove just jumped the shark
Dove, we continuously strive to make you believe you are beautiful, but in the meantime, keep buying our shit.
Funny that. I agree ‘Honesty’.
The ‘sketches’ ad was another retarded scam. There is no way, based on the comments made by the chicks could that guy have drawn all of them that accurately. The whole thing was a set up scam cannes awards scam. This makes me wonder how retarded women have actually become and degrading Dove has become.
Beauty is all in the mind. So you don’t need beauty products. Fail.
Firstly, The Fonz is hilarious.
Secondly, this is close to the biggest insult to advertising ever conceived.
Unless, it’s a teaser for Shallow Hal 2. In that case, it’s genius.
Well done.
This screams fake. People see through it. Better luck next time! I loved beauty sketches but this was a swing and a miss!
Cool whhip.
Horribly bad. What human in the world would be as gullible to believe that a patch could change a life long set of psychological and physical realities. A complete joke of a stunt.
Agreed – this is as bad as sketches was good.
All this does is make people look back on Sketches and lower their opinion of a successful standalone piece.
This is pollution.
For Dove and for Advertising in general.
