Ogilvy appoints international social specialist Cleber de Almeida as Social Strategy Director
Ogilvy Australia’s unified social and influence capability Social@Ogilvy has appointed experienced international social specialist Cleber de Almeida as Social Strategy Director.
Hailing from Brazil where he spent more than 15 years at Ogilvy as the strategic and operational lead for a variety of leading clients and more recently, Coca-Cola’s LATAM social capability, he brings multi-disciplinary leadership experience across creative, strategy, data intelligence, community management, real-time activation and delivering unified regional roadmaps.
de Almeida pioneered the application of AI and social data in content production, including the Game Time Loop for Coca-Cola’s FIFA World Cup 2026 which he ran globally for WPP’s OpenX. He has moved to take up a leadership role in the Social@Ogilvy team in Sydney.
Says Kirsty Muddle, CEO, Ogilvy Network ANZ: “Social today sits at the intersection of creativity, data and speed. It takes ideas strong enough to earn attention, the intelligence to know where and when they will matter, and the capability to act in real time. Cleber brings all three and knows how to use WPP Open to connect them.”
Says Daniel Young, Ogilvy’s Group Managing Director, Social & Influence: “Throughout his Ogilvy career, Cleber has been recognised as a beacon of innovation, creativity, and modernity. He brings a unique blend of global brand experience teamed with innovation and leading-edge social application. We’re excited to have this expertise both within the Australian and regional team.”
Says de Almeida: “Ogilvy has been my home for many years, and it’s been a privilege to be part of a global team that has developed what is now a world-leading social and influence capability. I’m looking forward to working within a new region that is clearly driven by constant innovation and an ability to apply both proven tools and approaches and develop new ways of thinking to drive growth.”
de Almeida’s appointment is effective immediately.
