mycar combines car safety with entertainment in ‘Road Trip Ready’ campaign via Eleven and TBWA

One of Australia’s largest tyre and auto networks, mycar Tyre & Auto has launched a new campaign Road Trip Ready via Eleven and TBWA, to encourage Australians to have a stress-free, enjoyable and safe driving experience.

 

mycar Tyre & Auto commissioned independent research that revealed 82% of Australians are planning a road trip in the next 3–6 months, yet 61% are ignoring basic pre-road trip inspections even when they know something is wrong with their vehicle.

However, avoiding routine checks isn’t the only road trip pain point for the millions of Australians looking to hit the road, as the research went on to reveal nearly half (44%) of Australians find a long road trip more boring than self-isolation.

To help make the journey more enjoyable and to encourage Australians to remember pre-trip car checks, mycar Tyre & Auto has launched Road Trip Ready, a PR campaign that features entertaining audio guides recorded by Logie Award-winner Grant Denyer and his wife Chezzi Denyer.

Made for families and friends about to hit the road, the 45-min and 60-min audio guides are available for download on mycar’s website, mycar.com.au/roadtripready, from today.

To support the campaign, mycar has launched a Road Trip Ready car inspection, a free check available nationally across its 265+ stores to get Australians’ cars road ready. The Road Trip Ready inspection and audio guides will also be amplified across mycar’s socials and website.

Creatively, we loved the idea of looking after people through our Road Trip Ready inspection and providing on the road entertainment with our audio guides.

What’s included in the free inspection?
The free “Road Trip Ready” inspection will check various components of your vehicle and provide recommendations on how to get your car running as smoothly as possible. This includes:

Check oil level
Check coolant level
Top up washer fluid
Check wipers
Check lights (exterior and interior)
Check tyre condition and pressures
Check spare tyre condition and pressure
Check jack and wheel brace (in place and ready for use)
Clean windscreen
