Miss Bossy Boots photographer Will Hartl creates time capsule for his son

Photographer Will Hartl, represented by Miss Bossy Boots, created his series “Toddler Still Life” during the early days of lockdown.

More commonly known for his iconic landscapes and emotive portraits, the enforced time indoors inspired Will to create this beautiful time capsule of imagery for his son described touchingly in this accompanying letter:

To my son:

I remember my childhood, and yet I don’t. We have memories, but they fade. I hope these images will remind you of the time we hibernated in the sanctuary of our house and garden.

The virus stopped the world, but it didn’t stop you. The virus took so much, but gave us so much more. The virus gave me the time to be present in the present.

Amongst the anarchy of rooms littered with toys, there was a beauty in the little moments. This is a record of some of the early days and the still moments.
