MFA EX chooses four rising stars to present Inspiration X Sessions at Media For All expo

The MFA Board has chosen four rising stars from Ikon Communications, PHD and Mindshare to present short, sharp, inspirational content at MFA EX: Media For All all-day expo on 17 October – and they have to deliver their message in less than 4 minutes.

The aim of the four-minutes presentations, dubbed Inspiration X, is to present a new or provocative perspective, inspire our industry to change its thinking or behaviour, and address the wider theme of delivering greater effectiveness.

Employees of MFA member agencies with less than 15 years’ experience in the industry were invited to submit Inspiration X proposals for a chance to present in front of a crowd of 1500 of their industry peers at MFA EX.

The four successful entrants who will take to the stage at Carriageworks on 17 October are:

Suryabala Shenbagamurthy (second from right), perfomance manager, Ikon Communications: How data privacy is changing customer-centric marketing

Apple’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) policy is one of many initiatives that could disrupt our industry. How do we do the right thing and activate customer-centric marketing with accountability for user privacy?

Thomas Davies (centre), strategist, Mindshare: For more effective media planning, we need to stop hiring media planners

What would happen if media agencies enforced a ban on hiring Caucasian business graduates? This presentation will look at less drastic initiatives our industry could use to benefit from the ‘edge effect’.

Chloe Hooper (far left), national new business and marketing director, and Remi Baker (second from right), strategy director, speaker TBC, PHD: Are you R&Dy?

Our industry talks about innovation but we’re not investing nearly enough in R&D, the starting point to any great innovation. This session will present an industry-wide solution with the potential to put Australia on the map for media innovation.

Georgina Debenham (far right), planning manager, PHD: The Side Hustle

A passionate case for the Side Hustle and how it can unlock intrinsic motivation that carries into your 9 to 5 and have a direct, positive impact on the broader business.

Says Sophie Madden, CEO, MFA: “Our industry is in good hands. The Inspiration X submissions demonstrated once again that there is an abundance of talent and deep thinking among young media agency professionals. All four of the chosen presentations will challenge MFA EX attendees to rethink the way we do things.”
The inaugural MFA EX: Media For All effectiveness expo will be held on 17 October, at Carriageworks Sydney, followed by the 2019 MFA Awards in the evening.
