Merv photographer Ben Baker celebrates Mums this Mother’s Day

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Merv is featuring photographer Ben Baker’s project on single mums raising boys; honouring the incredible work in raising the next generation of men.

This is the first of two series in the project, where Baker spent time documenting the lives and sharing the powerful bond of these families.

President Obama, Prime Minister Albanese, Lebron James are just a few men raised by amazing single mothers.

Says Baker: “Thirty percent of all families are single parent households, with mothers the sole parent 70% of the time. Photographing and interviewing these mothers and sons, gave me even more respect for single mums, as they navigate the pressures of raising young men.”
