M&C Saatchi Sydney group CD Sharon Edmondston departs after nearly nine years
M&C Saatchi Sydney group creative director Sharon Edmondston has departed the agency after nearly nine years.
Edmondston joined M&C Saatchi in August 2015 as creative director and was promoted to group creative director 15 months ago.
She has picked up metal at almost every international award show, has run some of the world’s biggest accounts and played a pivotal role in the progression of numerous world class agencies, her peers and the wider communications industry.
Edmondston told CB: “M&C Saatchi have been my advertising family for the best part of a decade and I wish them nothing but the greatest success in the future.”
Says a spokesperson from the M&C Saatchi Group: “As M&C Saatchi embraces the optimum creative structure for our clients’ needs and evolving capabilities, the necessary yet difficult decision has been made to reshape select roles. We are sad to part ways with colleagues that have played significant roles in delivering exceptional campaigns for our valued clients; for which we would like to say a heartfelt thank you. Small changes to our creative structure are required to channel our big ambition and purposefully continue M&C Saatchi Group on its trajectory of success.”

The absolute best in the biz. Tremendous loss for M&C
shaz = legend!!! big loss m&c
One of the best. Huge loss for M&C, massive win for whoever is lucky enough to snag her next.
Massive loss. I’d like to add, Shaz was also instrumental in building the culture and nurturing talent across the group!
Smash it Shaz x
heard heaps of talent have gone in the last 12 months.
no one left to do the work. heaps of chief officers tho. cool.
A talent as well as a pleasure to work with.
You’ll be snapped up in no time!
A true industry legend! Xx
Why have formidable women left that business?
Emily, now Sharon.
It might be time to ZIG not JAG.
Well that’s two.
Not a very convincing argument for such provocative accusation.
Any more ‘formidable women’you’d care to add?
I think I know a few! 🙂
The once huge agency has now lost almost all of the original staff, and almost all of the original senior creatives.
Was that spokesperson quote actually written by a human? Full of jargon lacking in empathy. Pretty bloody ordinary M&C.
Shaz has always been a massive champion of diversity of thought and has nurtured amazing talent coming through the ranks.
It’s evident in her role with AWARD school and the continuous M&C representation in finalists and winners of Young Lions & 30 under 30 competitions. A huge loss for M&C.
Let the bidding war begin, Shaz! Absolute legend both as creator and mentor.
A giant mentor and inspo to anyone who worked with her. M&Cya later and onto better things.
