‘Make America America Again’ film revisits the promise of America before 250th anniversary

Ahead of America’s 250th anniversary, Perth-based creative director and writer Andrew Tinning has released ‘Make America America Again,’ a cinematic AI short film inspired by the founding principles that have defined the United States for 250 years.

Set within the Lincoln Memorial, the film uses shifting light, weather and visual projections to mirror a nation at a defining moment in its history, exploring themes of democracy, unity and the enduring promise on which America was founded.

“When I was younger, I spent 12 months in the US as an exchange student. It was one of the best years of my life, and I developed a deep and lasting affection for both the country and its people.

:Like many observers around the world, I’ve watched what’s unfolding there closely, knowing that what happens in America doesn’t just stay in America. It ripples out and affects us all.

“This film comes from a place of admiration and respect. My hope is that it reminds people what has always made America… America,” said Tinning.

Created in collaboration with Melbourne AI production company Gunshy Cowboys and Perth sound studio MDS, the film deliberately takes a restrained approach to AI, using the technology not as spectacle, but to serve the story. Subtle performances, evolving weather and visual effects support emotion rather than overshadow it.

The film is not intended to inflame or divide. It is a respectful reminder of the principles that have long defined America at its best.
