LUMO to launch New Zealand’s largest roadside landscape digital billboard in Auckland

LUMO Digital Outdoor is set to launch New Zealand’s largest roadside landscape digital billboard, creating a new premium opportunity for advertisers to build brand impact at scale in central Auckland.

Located on the corner of 898 Great South Road, Penrose, LUMO-Great Southern Lights will go live on 2 November 2026, bringing a landmark large-format digital screen to one of Auckland’s busiest transport arterials. Connecting Auckland CBD, Auckland Airport to central Auckland, Sylvia Park, Ikea and in proximity to Mt Smart Stadium, the site gives brands access to a high-volume audience of commuters, trade fleets, business decision-makers and retail customers.

Reaching 95,000+ kiwis weekly and delivering 2.2 million impressions (knOOH, Reach & Impressions reporting, AP18+, 100%, 2026), the site will offer advertisers both reach and high frequency in a premium roadside environment.

At 26.4 metres wide by 6 metres high, the screen will deliver 158-square-meters of digital roadside presence with a distinctive corner return. More than four times the size of LUMO’s hero 12m x 3m landscape digital billboard, it gives brands the scale to deliver simple, bold and memorable creative with greater impact.

For agencies and marketers, the format offers more than size alone. It creates a rare opportunity to plan and produce work specifically for a premium large-format digital landscape roadside environment. For New Zealand creative teams, it marks a significant new digital landscape canvas in market and a chance to develop ambitious public-facing work at a cinematic scale not previously available roadside.

Phil Clemas, CEO and Co-founder of LUMO, says the new site reflects the growing demand from advertisers for premium digital OOH that combines strategic location with standout creative potential: “LUMO-Great Southern Lights gives brands a rare combination of scale, visibility and time in one of Auckland’s busiest transport arterials. Positioned on a main arterial route corner on Great South Road, it will be seen early and viewable from all four intersections, presenting a genuine opportunity for advertisers to build fame and for agencies to develop work designed specifically for the environment.”

LUMO is now in discussion with agencies and brands ahead of launch, with limited inaugural availability for advertisers seeking early access to the format.
