‘Johnny Debt’ is here to help Australians in debt in latest campaign for Debt Cutter via BLOKE
Debt Cutter and Sydney Creative Agency BLOKE have stepped in to deliver a message that there is a simpler way to cut back on mounting debt repayments with some help from ‘Johnny Debt’. In a cluttered market, Debt Cutter is focused on helping people get back on their feet and will stand by them every step of the way.
The fully integrated lead generation campaign sees Johnny Debt on DRTV, in cinemas, on bus backs, in print, on web banners and soon to be highlighted on the newly redesigned Debt Cutter website.
Johnny Debt is an everyday Aussie who has got himself into financial trouble. “It can happen to anyone”, explained BLOKE creative partner, Mike O’Rourke. “A few things go wrong and suddenly you’re paying one credit card off with another. Johnny’s character allows us to show empathy, and a real understanding of what they’re going through.”
“It’s important for people caught with debt issues to know that there is help available,” explained Tara Hawkins, Director of Marketing at Debt Cutter. “Debt stress is a common problem, it is however entirely manageable. The team at BLOKE have really delivered and we are thrilled with result.”

I love you Mike O, but this is… well, it’s not great.
This is pretty dire, it’s hard to find anything redeeming to say about it other than i hope the agency at least made some money out of it.
Why is this on CB Blog?
It’s an offence to the ad industry. Looks worse than a station-produced ad from a regional tv station.
I remember when Agency 42 put up something this bad, at least they had the sense to have it removed.
