Introducing Canopy: these guys are high AF

Corporate film production company LCB has merged with market leader In The Thicket (ITT) to create new premium content brand Canopy.

Canopy reunites (mostly) silent partner Jason Burrows (founder of ITT and CEO of Jungle Entertainment) with creative director Reuben Field — his first employee back in the 2000s and a source of early triumphs including a Grammy Award nomination.

Says Burrows: “Reuben was a child prodigy back then. Now fifteen years later he’s almost an adult, so hopefully he’s learnt a thing or two.”

Says Field: “It’s exciting to be back under Jason’s thumb, carrying a legacy forward and building a team of fresh talent.”

Canopy brings together longtime ITT clients including Lendlease (for whom Mums 4 Safety won silver at Cannes) with regular LCB clients including Transport for NSW and the CSIRO.

Canopy’s third partner is new executive producer Martin Aspinall. A veteran of both production and agencies including M&C, DDB and OGB, Aspinall brings a unique perspective to the business.

Says Aspinall: “I dreamed of being an astronaut when I was a kid, so this is a slightly disappointing announcement to be a part of. But we do enjoy challenging ourselves, innovating, and elevating our craft to new heights. With a focus on high end content for top brands and agencies, we’re all about quality over quantity… unless the quantity makes us really rich.”
