Interbrand’s David Rennie to turbocharge DDB Group’s Tribal as national managing director
Interbrand’s David Rennie has been elevated to national managing director of DDB Group’s digital technology business, Tribal.
Following his success within the Interbrand business, Rennie will lead Tribal across Australia, driving stronger integration within the DDB Group and broadening its capabilities.
Rennie joined Interbrand in 2017 from whiteGREY as CX director before being promoted to managing director in 2018 in recognition of his contribution to the agency’s growth. He also previously worked at Deloitte Digital.
During his time at Interbrand, he helped win a string of new business, doubled the revenue of the agency and lowered attrition.
His new role will see DDB Group better deliver end-to-end creative ideas across its suite of clients with Rennie working closely with the leadership teams across the Sydney and Melbourne offices.
Says Andrew Little, CEO, DDB Australia: “Davy has helped lead the Interbrand team to fantastic growth over the last two years. We believe his next step is driving the Tribal business across our Sydney and Melbourne offices and building a stronger digital offering within the DDB Group.
“Not only does Davy have a successful track record in growing business, he has also played a significant role in creating a strong culture within Interbrand and has been an advocate within the industry. We are confident he is the right person to take Tribal forward.”
Says Rennie: “Tribal is a global digital technology agency that has enjoyed recent success in the US and UK markets, so when the opportunity came along to lead the Australian company, I jumped at it.
“I’m excited to expand Tribal’s capabilities and pivot the business toward a more consultancy mindset that provides proactive advisory for clients. I have a great passion for creating the agency of the future and am looking forward to transforming the Tribal company.”
He will commence his new role in April with his replacement at Interbrand to be named in coming weeks.
