Industry podcast JUNIOR celebrates life at the bottom once again with a relaunch

Junior: Celebrating Life at the Bottom is ready to inspire a new wave of advertising creatives with a new podcast, new events, and an all-new look.

RMIT graduate Lachie Collie has taken over the project from co-founders Ed Howley, Tait Ischia, Monica Clapcott, and the original “Senior Junior” Stanley Johnson with a focus on aiding young creatives looking to find their way in the advertising world.

Says Collie: “The world has changed a lot since Junior was founded, so I’m excited to bring this project to a new generation of creatives as a podcast.

“Junior was created to help young people realise there are no barriers to working in creative industries.

“The need for support and community when you’re starting your career is just as present today as it was when Monica and Ed were juniors.”

Ed Howley, creative partner at By All Means co-founded Junior with Tait Ischia, head of content at Today and alongside Monica Clapcott, senior producer at Hart & Co, over ten years ago as fresh graduates. Howley says the original team was “thrilled” when plans emerged to “blow the cobwebs off the project”.

Says Howley: “We are very much excited to see where Lachie takes it into the future, and help mentor him through the process.”

The podcast trailer is out now, ahead of the shows official launch on April 1.

Each episode takes a prickly problem for young people entering the industry and leans on advertising’s biggest names to answer it.

Says Collie: “The calibre of creative we’ve talked to has blown me away, from Alex Wadelton and Esther Clerehan to Ben Keenan and Steph DiGianvincenzo.

“The industry has truly embraced everything that Junior stands for.

“Hopefully, the podcast can be a resource for Juniors of all kinds to use and get their start, climb the ladder, and be the industry’s leaders of tomorrow.”
