Hype Republic captures Ford Ranger Raptor triumph at Finke Desert Race in mini documentary
Ford Performance has once again conquered the formidable Tatts Finke Desert Race, securing the Production 4WD class victory with the indomitable Ford Ranger Raptor, piloted by Brad Lovell and navigated by Byam Lovell.
Known as one of Australia’s most gruelling off-road challenges, the Tatts Finke Desert Race spans hundreds of kilometres through the unforgiving Outback terrain, pushing human endurance, vehicle capabilities and production teams to their limits.
Behind the scenes, Hype Republic’s nimble team played a pivotal role in capturing the action and bringing the creative vision to life from production through to post. Led by director Allan Hardy ACS, the team consisted of just two multi-skilled shooter/editors, helicopter pilot and photographer, capturing and delivering daily content between the Alice Springs start-line and the remote Apatula desert campsite. Hype’s expertise and determination ensured that every moment of the #773 Ranger Raptor’s journey through the Outback was captured with precision and creativity, and broadcast live to automotive and motorsport media within hours.
