Howatson+Company promotes Richard Shaw to Chief Creative Officer
A global search for the agency’s next creative leader shines light on its existing talent, with Richard Shaw elevated to CCO at Howatson+Company, following Gavin Chimes’ departure from the role last month.
Says Chris Howatson, CEO/Founder Howatson+Company: “The very best candidate to lead us into the future was already here. Rich is an incredible creative leader, talent, and partner to brands. What makes Rich’s work special is how he balances the three pillars of modern persuasion – idea, craft and orchestration. I’m proud to see him represent creativity at H+Co”
Shaw, who joined Howatson+Company in 2022, and was promoted to Deputy Chief Creative Officer in 2024, has been foundational in new business wins and sustained creative excellence. With over 20 years’ experience, Shaw cares fiercely for the commercial impact of creativity, and the people who enable it.
Says Shaw: “Working alongside Howie and the team to get to this point has been an amazing journey. It goes without saying how excited I am for this next chapter. We’ve got the most incredible clients and talent across the agency and I can’t wait to keep building on that. Our aim is clear, make the most impactful, most effective, most ambitious work and have fun doing it.”
Shaw’s position is effective immediately and he will announce further senior hires in the coming weeks.
