How many times can granny die?

Isn’t it time to stop lying that granny’s not well?
An hilarious new spot from DraftFCB, Buenos Aries for ZonaJobs which is one of the Bestads Top 6 this week.

Absolutely awesome.
Finally, something that reminds me why I got into this game.
It’s a long bow, but funny enough not to matter.
Love it.
finally something entertaining.
bloody argentinians are smashing it.
how many australian clients would have the nuts to run that? you’d probably get the concept approved, but with a few caveats:
well, of course we can’t show her ACTUALLY getting hit by the bus. Or actually getting opened up by an assault rifle. Or actually being blown to shit by a car bomb. And the hand coming up out of the grave is just too much. Opening on the hospital scene just isn’t funny, there’s no humour in watching someone die alone in hospital bed. no, we don’t like that. So feedback is, we love love love the idea, you just need to tone it down a bit.
Farkin nice, if only Australian clients had the balls to buy work like this.
One of the few ads people will look forward to watching.
Excellent.
Brilliant. Shame it’s not Australian.
You’re assuming a client actually approved it, and that it actually ran. Given the length it is obviously a web video. I’d be surprised if any client has even seen it.
That’s a fucking big production for something that never ran, for a client who never saw it. i highly doubt that’s the case.
And web films are as legitimate as TVC’s anyway. I don’t ever remember seeing Nike’s Write The Future on TV, or google chrome demonstrations, or countless others.
Anyway, Argentina isn’t top 3-5 in Gunn rankings for nothing: they’ve now got a strong culture of great work going on there. Of course some of it’s semi-legit, but they’re kicking our arse across the board.
Handofgod you speak the truth
A magic piece of work – truly insightful, ballsy and brilliantly executed.
Forget whether Australian clients would approve it – the best I’ve worked with over the years surely would – so that’s an abstraction of argument.
Rather ask yourself whether this would have got through the dumbed down Australian consumer during research?
Would it have managed to hurdle the obstacles the idiots at CAD (even at script stage) would have put in its way?
Would the monopoly of commercial television stations advertisers are at mercy of here, agree to air it, once it was made?
Which – loosely called – Australian film director would you even consider to give a concept like this and not completely ruin it?
They’re the things that really stop creativity like this being run in Tosstralia.
GUYS, JUST CHECK ON THE ZONAJOBS FANPAGE AT FACEBOOK TO SEE THE SPOT POSTED BY THE CLIENT, AND IN THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNEL. AND OF COURSE, IF YOU WERE ARGENTINIANS YOU´VE ALREADY SEEN IT ON CINEMAS AND CABLE. BUT THEY MAIN SPOTLINE IS WEB, GIVEN THEY´RE A DOTCOM COMPANY. STOP LOOKING FOR HIDDEN MINES, START PUSHING YOUR CLIENTS FURTHER.
Caps lock is like cruise control for stupid.
