Health food brands SumoSalad and THR1VE appoint McKenzie Partners as new ad agency

Advertising agency McKenzie Partners has added SumoSalad and THR1VE to its client list. McKenzie’s remit will include digital, social and creative direction.

SumoSalad is one of Australia’s largest healthy fast food chains. Established in Sydney in 2003, their salad bars are located in food courts, transport hubs and, most recently, supermarket delis. In 2018, Sumo launched SumoWell, a range of grab-and-go ready meals and salads available at grocers.

THR1VE was acquired by SumoSalad in 2019. THR1VE is a direct-to-consumer brand that offers healthy ready meal delivery via their e-commerce platform. They also have a wholesale range, available in Woolworths Metro and independent grocers. THR1VE specialises in low carb, high protein options to help customers achieve their goals.

Says Darren McKenzie, CEO, McKenzie Partners: “SumoSalad, SumoWell and THR1VE all offer unique nutrition solutions for Australians. With the ever-changing food landscape and the growing popularity of grab-and-go meals, our job will be to educate the Australian market about these fantastic healthy alternatives. It’s an exciting opportunity to challenge existing perceptions of convenience foods.”

This latest partnership tops off a successful year for McKenzie. The agency has acquired several new accounts and appointed key senior members of the team.

Says Luke Baylis, CEO, SumoSalad: “Our business is growing and we’re confident that McKenzie is the best partner for this exciting new phase. McKenzie Partners has exceptional creative and strategic vision. We are looking forward to building the Sumo and THR1VE brands together and sharing our passion for healthy and delicious food with even more Australians.”
