Harris Farm Markets appoints Neon Black as lead PR agency

Australian family owned and run leading grocery retailer Harris Farm Markets has appointed Neon Black as its lead PR agency following a competitive selection process, involving four agencies nationally.

This new relationship will mean Neon Black will be responsible for working with Harris Farm Markets on a range of national and locally focused PR and communications initiatives and projects during 2020 and 2021.

Says Ian Wells, who leads the Harris Farm Markets marketing team: “When searching for a new agency to work with, we had a very clear idea of who we were looking for. It was important for us to work with an independent agency who has an incredible ability to not only think creatively, but also strategically and had a similar feel to the Harris Farm team – we wanted to work with a hands-on agency partner that would work collaboratively with us throughout the process and be truly aligned with our brand vision.

“This, coupled with outstanding media contacts, infectious energy, a unique way of working and complete commitment to their clients has made us delighted to welcome Neon Black on board as part of the Harris Farm team for all of our key PR and communications projects.”

Harris Farm has a longstanding history in Australian retail. Established in 1971, Harris Farm Markets was the first fruit and vegetable company to open a supermarket style operation. Harris Farm has grown to have a footprint of 22 stores across New South Wales, specialising in fruit, vegetables, cheeses, bread, delicatessen and other grocery items.

Says Soraya Calavassy, co-founder of Neon Black: “We are proud to officially welcome Harris Farm Markets to the Neon Black family. At Neon Black, we are driven by working with like-minded brands and businesses who have strong core values and a great heritage. As an independent retailer, Harris Farm has truly set a high standard in the industry by spearheading forward-thinking initiatives within the entire sector, including its national first Imperfect Picks range which has been designed to reduce food wastage while saving Australians money.

“It’s a pleasure to be working in partnership with a business who is at the forefront of their industry and has a strong purpose; whether it be Harris Farm’s championing of environmental causes or focusing on giving Australian consumers quality products, there is a true commitment from Harris Farm to the community. Our Neon Black team is incredibly excited to be sharing the Harris Farm Markets story in 2020 and beyond.”
