Guest editors wanted for Gabberish

Gabberish, creative therapy for creative minds, is seeking guest editors to help in its pursuit of a better, more supportive creative industry.

Gabberish was started 18 months ago by M&C Saatchi ACD Siobhan Fitzgerald and is co-edited by Leo Burnett CD Jess Lilley, both of whom will stay on board to guide the future of the publication.

Since its creation, Gabberish has featured the work of over 100 creatives, tackled important issues like ‘responsibility’ and ‘age’, and spoken to industry luminaries including Cindy Gallop, Ant Keogh, Matt Eastwood, Cam Blackley and Emma Robbins. Gabberish has become a must-read for those in the trenches of creative shops, offering them support, solidarity and humour. It has garnered over 25,000 readers and can regularly be seen making the rounds of creative departments.

Says Fitzgerald: “Gabberish is published for and by the advertising community. It grows when people in our community step up to name and address the issues they see as being important. We’re looking for people to pick an issue they feel passionate about and acting as editor/CD around that issue. This is a great opportunity for individuals or teams wanting to create a better creative community and gain industry recognition in the process.”

You can read her open letter to the creative community here.

Guest editor duties will include finding an issue to address, seeking contributions of conceptual work, interviewing creative leaders, and editing regular columns like ‘Life on the other side’, ‘Gift of the Gabberer’, and ‘Team Talk’. Editors will be supported by Fitzgerald and Lilley.
