Glory for Australia as Leo’s ‘Haven’ for Suncorp takes out Dan Wieden Titanium Lions Grand Prix

Leo Australia has won the Titanium Grand Prix, widely regarded as the most prestigious award at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, for Suncorp Insurance’s ‘Haven’.

The Dan Wieden Titanium Lions recognise work that breaks new ground and sets a direction for the future of the industry, with the Grand Prix reserved for the single idea the jury considers most game-changing across the entire festival. Only five Lions were awarded in the category this year, with Leo Australia’s win sitting at the very top.

The campaign was created by Leo Australia, in collaboration with Hogarth Worldwide Sydney, Le Polish Bureau, PXP Sydney and OMD Sydney.

Haven is an AI-powered tool that gives Australian homes a voice to talk about extreme weather risks, providing tailored resilience tips to better protect their properties. Users enter their address to get a tailored dynamic video and downloadable report covering their property’s flood, bushfire, cyclone or storm risk, drawing on data from partners including Google, CoreLogic and WillyWeather.

In the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions, 137 entries were received, with 18 shortlisted and the Jury choosing to award 4 Titanium Lions and one Grand Prix.

Dan Wieden Titanium Lions Jury President, Chaka Sobhani, Global Chief Creative Officer, TBWA\Worldwide, said: “The theme of the festival is where does creativity go next? And that is what the Dan Weiden Titanium Lion exemplifies in droves. This is about celebrating the ideas that are genuinely game changing, that inspire us to reimagine what is possible, and that genuinely pave the way for where creativity can go in the future. These are not ideas that exist for just one moment but that have a true and profound lasting impact on how brands show up in the world, on business, on people, on the culture we are part of and on the world we live in. Ultimately ideas that the world would miss if they didn’t exist.”

It’s the fourth Lion of the festival for “Haven”, after the campaign earlier picked up Silver in Creative Data, Bronze in Direct and Silver in Brand Experience & Activation.

Titanium Lions were awarded to:

adam&eve\TBWA, London for Columbia Sportswear’s “Expedition Impossible”
VML, New York / VML, Mexico City for Oreo’s “Oreo Cows”
Dini von Mueffling Communications New York, for “The Legacy of Virginia Giuffre”
Rainbow Lobster, Mexico City + Comando Con Venezuela, Caracas, for “600K Network”
