Freedom turns Australians on with furniture envy in new integrated campaign via M&C Saatchi
This December & January Freedom is putting its most wanted items on sale in a campaign by M&C Saatchi that will be sure to stand out from the brash post-Christmas retail scramble.
The campaign, ‘For whatever turns you on’ is spearheaded by a cheeky 30-second spot that tells the story of furniture envy with a twist.
Involving an amorous young couple, a desirable sofa and voyeuristic older neighbours, the TVC debuts on air 26th December. The campaign also rolls out with outdoor, press and online.
Says Jenny Gulliver, Freedom head of marketing: “We wanted to convey the desirability of our product in a playful and personality filled way while generating excitement and showcasing the breadth of quality products in the Freedom Sale. We wanted to move away from the shouty Boxing Day sales ads – and give our customers something to enjoy.
“The campaign perfectly encapsulates what we were after.”

This has been well shot. The first Freedom ad that’s got a rise out of me.
Nice ones
bad writing bad direction and good actors performing badly.
@ drone… I recommend a big lie down over the Christmas break – your creative radar and sense of humour needs a little rest –
Very funny spot..I like this very much!
horrrrrrrrible

Advertising furniture is never easy…this at least made me laugh for the right reasons.
sex smells
This is great. Really funny, nice timing. Who Directed it??
It’s bang on brand; not quite as good as the IKEA equivalent.

Inappropriate for 8.40pm, from a Mother-of-3. Nice way to spoil some family viewing. Won’t be shopping at FREEDOM any time soon. The average Joe Blow’s fantasy is boring and very uncreative.
I cannot believe this ad has been permitted to go on during ‘family’ viewing hours. My 13 and 9 year old do not need to see this during family movie time! COMPLAINT!
Outside family time is fine, but NOT FOR KIDS
