Former CHE Proximity Group CD Hamish Stewart joins GHO in Experience Strategy Director role

GHO has announced the appointment of Hamish Stewart, who joins the agency as experience strategy director.

Stewart is one of the industry’s most highly regarded digital leaders, having held positions including ECD at R/GA Sydney, group creative director at M&C Saatchi Sydney, and most recently group creative director at CHE Proximity Sydney.

Throughout his career, he has been awarded multiple local and global awards, including four Cannes Lions and Gold at One Show in 2019 for NRMA Safety Hub via CHE Proximity. He was also 2019’s Chair of Judges for Digital at AWARD, and a mentor for ‘Remarkable’, Australia’s first accelerator for early-stage startups creating technology to positively impact life for people living with a disability.

During his time at R/GA Sydney, the agency won AdFest’s Asia-Pacific Digital Agency of the Year, plus a D&AD Yellow Pencil, two Gold Lions, and the Digital Craft Grand Prix at Spikes Asia for Google’s Through the Dark.

The appointment is a continuation of GHO’s mission to break down traditional silos between strategy and creative, in order to offer better solutions for its clients.

Says Eithne McSwiney, managing director, GHO: “We believe that all strategy must have creativity at its core. And as a creative with a strong strategic mind, Hamish is the perfect embodiment of that idea.

“His impact is already being felt within the business, and we’re incredibly excited to have someone of his calibre joining the team. He’s the real deal.”

Says Stewart: “There’s a real momentum at GHO, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the team. The way they think – independent, collaborative and customer-centred – is a great fit. The agency’s mantra is ‘work with people you like’; I’m excited to be doing just that.”
