EMPORIUM MELBOURNE CELEBRATES THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING WITH MIFF SPONSORSHIP FILM VIA COS WE CAN

Emporium Melbourne has partnered with Melbourne International Film Festival to position themselves as the heart of fashion in the city with a film created and produced by Clare Plueckhahn and Fran Derham from Cos We Can.

Starring MIFF Ambassador Lily Sullivan, this fashion film draws upon the story of Persephone; Goddess of vegetation, wife of Hades and ruler of the underworld, Persephone returns to earth each spring bringing forth new life.

Written by poet Varia Karipoff the film talks to the idea of Emporium Melbourne being the modern beating heart of the city and uses fashion and the changing of season as a metaphor for life and death.

Says Al Cossar, artistic director, MIFF: “MIFF is exceptionally excited to be collaborating with the Emporium in 2019 – both iconic, localised brands synonymous and inseparable with Melbourne City, that may speak to different forms in film and fashion – but both stand for artisanship and for a passionate pursuit of creative excellence. We’re especially delighted that Emporium’s new work features one of our MIFF Ambassadors for 2019 – the wonderful Lily Sullivan.”

I loved every minute of creating this world of spring fashion and fantasy for Emporium Melbourne.”

Premiering at MIFF’s Opening Night Gala ‘Persephone’ will appear in the previews before film screenings across the festival – along with Emporium big screens, shopalive’s and instagram.
