UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE APP: In Monday’s Media section of The Australian, Simon Canning reported that Droga 5 has created a world-first iPhone app for brewer Cascade.
The app, which has just launched on iTunes, gives drinkers information on more than 500 beers and food matches and allow them to use Facebook and GPS to track the beers their friends are drinking.

A brand so confident they will own other brands, and give people something useful in the mean time. Can’t wait to see the app.
Why not wait until the app is out to talk about it?
I wish you boozers would take your collectives hands off it. Beer (and wine for that matter) is for getting you messed up. Stop pretending otherwise, nonces.
Good to see something other than a VB ad come out of D5.
First Cascade were stupid enough to walk away from their Tasmania/pure water positioning only to see Boags grab it.
Now they are going to help advertise Boags as well.
Amazing!
Pointless.
This isn’t world-first, there are plenty of food / wine and food / beer matching apps out there.
Maybe world first for Cascade, in which case this is cleverly worded.
However, well done on creating a useful app instead of a silly game or 10 second gimmick. For the 2,215 iPhone users in Australia who are into beer-matching, this will be a hit.
I downloaded it and really liked it.
Thought it was a good, useful app.
I had a few issues with the barcode scanner, but other than that 7/10.
