Director Raghav Rampal signs with Collider

Raghav Rampal has joined Collider’s director roster, launching representation in Australia and New Zealand.

Indian-born, Australian-raised, and synonymous with surreal J Award-winning music videos for Korean-Australian rappers 1300, Rampal brings a fearless and fresh energy to the branded space.

At times manic and dark, at others bright and playful, Rampal’s work is always captivating. With a love for DIY rigs and visionary camera work, and his natural instincts for editing and music, Rampal brings an indomitable energy to every piece of work he directs. It’s no surprise that he cites influences as wide ranging as Paul Thomas Anderson and How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days (a reference that won the hearts of the team at Collider).

Says Olivia Hantken, EP, Collider: “I had a director crush on Rag since I first saw his work and (not for the last time) thought, “how the f did he do that?” Bold and wildly inventive, he was pulling off million-dollar effects on a shoestring. When I met him I was delighted to find him to be kind and quick-witted, and someone unbounded by the usual rules of filmmaking. Within a few months we were filming for Nike in Bangkok. I can’t wait to keep bringing to life the worlds he conjures.”

Says Rampal: “I’m excited to create great work with the team at Collider and am glad they liked my weird references.”
