Director Bec Peniston-Bird joins AIRBAG

Director Bec Peniston-Bird has joined AIRBAG’s growing roster.

 

Peniston-Bird began her career making documentaries which explored the creative process of artists such as Nick Cave, Barry Humphries and Keith Haring. An alumni of the Berlinale Talent Campus, her shorts have screened at some of the world’s most noteworthy film festivals, including Berlin, Palm Springs and Series Mania, as well as on ABC TV.

Peniston-Bird worked on the final season of iconic ABC series Jack Irish, and completed a professional attachment on the Spierig Brothers’ Winchester, starring Helen Mirren and Sarah Snook. She is attached to direct the feature adaptation of Graeme Simsion’s novella, Creative Differences.

A member of the Australian Writers Guild’s Pathways Program, she is also a past winner of the AWG’s Insite Award for her feature screenplay, Petrova, and has created factual content for ABC TV, MTV and Lonely Planet TV, as well as commercial work for notable clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Kleenex, CFMEU and Vicks.
