Deloitte Digital’s Nick Garrett chats with The Tuesday Club’s Nick Worthington on The Creative Relay

Industry legend and founder of The Tuesday Club Nick Worthington has dropped in as the latest guest on The Creative Relay podcast.

Talking with Nick Garrett from Deloitte Digital and podcast host Paul Dunne, Worthington speaks with his characteristic style about ideas and the importance of working with people who can bring them to life.

Says Worthington: “Everyone has great ideas, but they don’t often have people around them who can recognise them and know what to do with them once they’ve been had.

“Ideas need to be born into a fertile environment.”

Worthington, former ECD of Colenso BBDO, also explains his guiding principles for brand-building success, and how they are allegorical to an agency’s ambition: “People buy brands they love, and will keep buying as long as you keep their trust. It goes the same for agencies and their clients.”

Recognised as one of the world’s top advertising minds and a master of building a creative culture, Worthington offers some sage advice to the next generation of industry thinkers and makers.

Says Worthington: “The harder you work, the luckier you get.”

For Dan Higson, producer at Smith and Western Sound where the podcast is recorded, having Worthington on The Creative Relay was a dream come true: “With his swag of awards – both for work and the agencies he’s led – Nick has always been a must-have guest. I’m so happy the relay found its way to him.”
